## Styling Rules

- **Navy** (`#0d1936`) is the default on light grounds.
- **Red** (`#d04724`) for one emphasis icon on a page, and not near figures — see Color Usage in `brand guidelines.md`.
- **Slate** (`#505561`) for a secondary icon.
- **Cream-on-Dark** (`#f8f1e3`) on Navy and Night.
- **Sizes:** `w-8 h-8` (32px) for feature/section icons · `w-6 h-6` (24px) for stats and list items · `w-4 h-4` (16px) for inline/contact details
- **Placement:** Above or left of associated heading; centered in card grids
- **Style:** Bare stroke icons only — no fills, no backgrounds, no circles

## Selecting New Icons

1. Pick from Lucide first to maintain visual consistency
2. If Lucide doesn't have a fit, create a custom SVG matching Lucide conventions (24×24 viewBox, stroke-width 2, round caps/joins, no fills)
3. Prefer single-concept, recognizable metaphors — avoid abstract or overly literal icons
4. Check the mapping above before choosing — reuse existing icon-concept pairings where the concept overlaps
